SongBook _ MegaPro Plus _ Karaoke App
MegaPro Songbook: The App, Explained
If you own a MegaPro karaoke system, you know the paper songbook problem. It's thick, it's falling apart, the pages stick together, and the song you want is never where you think it is. MegaPro Songbook is the app that replaces it — a digital songbook made specifically for MegaPro Karaoke systems. Here's what it does, what it doesn't do, and where to get the real one.
What MegaPro Songbook is
It's a songbook app for Android, made by a Filipino developer (App Master Box) for people with MegaPro videoke setups. You search for a song by title, artist, or code, and the app shows you the song number to punch into your MegaPro player. Tap the heart icon and it lands in your favorites.
The important part: this app is only a songbook. It does not play karaoke. It won't turn your phone into a videoke machine. It just tells you what number to type into the machine you already own. The developer states this plainly on the Play Store listing, and it's the single most misunderstood thing about the app.
Which systems it covers
The app is tailored for MegaPro Karaoke systems — the brand that's everywhere in Philippine homes, from compact DVD units to hard-drive players. That includes the MegaPro Plus line (the Amos, Ezra, Migael, and Piolo models people ask about by name), the MP-1000 series, the Pro, Danaya, and DX-2 units, plus MegaPro Plus HDD players. If your player says MegaPro on the front, this is the songbook built for it.
What you can do with it
- Search by title, artist, or code. Type a few letters and results appear instantly — no more flipping to the index, then to the page, then back to the index.
- Save favorites. One tap on the heart icon. Your go-to songs live in one list, ready before the mic is.
- Skip the paper entirely. The whole point: your phone is the songbook now. It doesn't get beer spilled on it (well, your phone might, but that's on you).
The app is free, collects no data according to its Play Store listing, and was last updated in August 2026 with newer Android support. For a free utility from a small independent developer, it's remarkably well kept — regular updates, no ads cluttering the search screen, and a listing that tells you exactly what the app does and doesn't do.
Getting it: the official app
There's exactly one official MegaPro Songbook: the one by App Master Box on Google Play. It's free. Install it, open it, search. That's the whole process.
You'll also find an app called "MegaPro Karaoke Songbook" by a different developer (ihenvyr) with around 150,000 downloads. That's an unofficial alternative — it works as a songbook for MegaPro Plus devices, but it's not from the same maker. If you want the official one, check the developer name before you tap install.
What about the other songbooks?
The same developer makes songbook apps for other Philippine videoke brands: Platinum Songbook, TJ Media Songbook, and Songhub Songbook. If your household has two different players (it happens), you can run both apps side by side. Each one is tuned to its own brand's song numbering, so don't use the MegaPro app to look up songs for a Platinum player — the codes won't match.
Know your MegaPro model
MegaPro players come in a few flavors, and the names confuse people. The Plus DVD units are the disc-based ones — models nicknamed Amos, Ezra, Migael, and Piolo (plus the Piolo Jr). The Plus HDD players store songs on a hard drive instead of discs, so the library is bigger and loads faster. Older lines like the MP-1000, Pro, Danaya, and DX-2 are still in plenty of living rooms. The songbook app covers the numbering across these, which is the whole reason it exists: every model has its own song codes, and nobody memorizes them.
Using it on karaoke night
The flow is simple. Before the singing starts, everyone browses on their own phone — no more passing one paper book around a table of ten. When someone picks a song, they read out the code, whoever's nearest the player punches it in, and the favorites list keeps the regulars' songs one tap away. If your player supports multiple singers queueing up, the app makes that painless: search, note the code, next person.
One practical tip: keep your phone charged. A dead phone mid-party means you're back to shouting "ano'ng code ng..." across the room.
Quick answers
Does MegaPro Songbook play music? No. It's a songbook only — it shows song numbers for your MegaPro player.
Is it free? Yes, the official app is free on Google Play.
Will it work without my MegaPro player? It'll open and search, but the song numbers only mean something on a real MegaPro system.
What's the difference between the official and unofficial versions? The official one (App Master Box) is built specifically as the MegaPro companion; the unofficial one (ihenvyr) is a third-party alternative with its own song list. Both are songbooks, neither plays audio.
Do I still need the paper songbook? Only as a backup. Most people ditch it within a week.
The code in the app doesn't match my player. Why? You're probably looking at the wrong model's list, or your player's song library is an older/newer revision than the app's. Double-check which MegaPro unit you own — the model name is on the front panel.
Can I use it for a Platinum or TJ Media player? Not with this app — codes are brand-specific. The same developer makes separate songbook apps for those brands.
Does it work without internet? Yes. Once installed, the songbook lives on your phone. No connection needed at the party.
Bottom line: if you've got a MegaPro system and you're still thumbing through a paper book, this app is the upgrade. Free, simple, and it does exactly one job well. And if friends ask why you're suddenly finding songs in seconds while they're still on page 47 — just show them the app.
