MegaPro Songbook Number Lookup: How Song Codes Work
"Megapro songbook number" is one of the top related searches for the app — and it makes sense. The whole point of MegaPro Songbook is turning a song title into the number you type into your player. Here's how the lookup actually works and what to do when a number doesn't match.
The basic lookup
Open the app, type the song title or artist, and the result shows the song's code — the number your MegaPro player wants. Punch it into the player's remote or keypad and the song queues up. You can also search by code directly if someone shouts a number across the room and you want to check what song it is.
Why codes differ between players
Song numbers aren't universal. A code on a MegaPro Plus DVD (Amos, Ezra, Migael, Piolo) may not match the same song on a Plus HDD player or an older MP-1000. Each model's library is its own list. The app's database follows the standard MegaPro numbering, but if your player's song list is a different revision — older discs, updated hard drive — some codes will be off.
When a number doesn't work
- Confirm which MegaPro model you own. The name is on the front panel.
- Search the title in the app instead of trusting a remembered number — memory is the #1 source of wrong codes.
- If the song isn't in the app at all, your player's library may be newer than the app's database. Check for an app update.
Favorites: your personal number list
Tap the heart on any song and it lands in your favorites — your own curated number list, no lookup needed next time. Regulars at the same videoke setup end up with dozens saved. It's the closest thing to a cheat sheet, and it's the feature people miss most when they go back to the paper book.
